Dutton Island Dolphin AdventureDutton Island is the City of Atlantic Beaches largest treasure located at the western end of Dutton Drive, and west of Mayport Road. Dutton Island consists of 9,000 square feet of nature trails, 386 acres of land, a fishing pier, canoe/kayak launch, picnic area and pavilion. Home of the Marsh Fest for the last four years, Dutton Island is a cherished gem of Atlantic Beach. The City of Atlantic Beach along with non profit environmental organizations and locals have banned together to make the preservation of this rich ecosystem possible. Dutton Island Preserve formerly known as Pine Island lies east of the Intra Coastal Waterway (ICW) with miles of winding tributaries and pristine estuary to explore; you will never cover the same water twice. This ecologically diverse estuary offers incredible views of nesting osprey, bald eagles, heron, wood stork, and many more of Florida's resident and migratory birds. Along the (ICW) we will often encounter Atlantic Bottlenose Dolphins that feed and teach their young to hunt in the flowing tidal rivers of the ICW. Seasonally, the West Indian Manatee uses the ICW to travel along and lazily graze its shores. The abundance of shear beauty is breath taking as you get a real glimpse of what "The Real Florida" has to offer.
