| | Guana Eco Birding Tour
This is one of my favorite places to paddle. I have been guiding here for almost 10 years and every season it amazes me, the abundance and concentration of wildlife in this 10 mile lake. Every group I have had the pleasure of introducing to this unique environment has been equally enchanted by this wildly beautiful place. Guana Lake is a very unique environment, in the fifty's the owners of this plot of land dammed the tidal river creating the lake for hunting. This brackish water environment attracts wintering waterfowl, but also many other migratory birds. The lake is a safe place for these birds to rest for a couple of weeks before continuing their migration. Some of the birds I have seen out there in the last couple of weeks include white, brown, black ibis, wood stork, snowy egret, great white egret, great blue heron, roseate spoonbill, and anhinga. Please join us for an educational experience in one of Northeast Florida's most beautiful locations.
